Your Bkmark profile is the central place to control who you are inside the app and how you authenticate. From here you can change your display name, update your login email, manage the social accounts you’ve linked, and — if you ever need to — permanently close your account.
Display name and email
Your display name appears throughout Bkmark wherever your identity is shown. To change it, open Settings → Profile and type a new name into the Display name field, then click Save changes. Changes take effect immediately.
To update your login email address, enter your new email in the Email field and save. Bkmark will send a confirmation link to the new address. The change only takes effect once you click that link, so your old address remains active until you confirm the new one.
Changing your password
If you signed up with an email address and password you can update your password at any time from Settings → Profile → Security → Change password. You’ll need to enter your current password before you can set a new one.
If you’ve never set a password — for example, because you only sign in through a social provider — you can add one by choosing Add password from the same section. You’ll receive a setup link by email.
Connected social accounts
Bkmark supports signing in with Google, GitHub, Microsoft, and LinkedIn. Connecting a social account lets you use that provider as an alternative login method — you can have multiple providers linked to the same account at once.
To add a provider, go to Settings → Profile → Connected accounts and click Connect next to the provider you want to add. You’ll be redirected to that provider’s authorization page, and on approval the account is linked immediately.
To remove a provider, click Disconnect next to the connected account. You must have at least one active login method remaining — either a password or another connected provider — before you can disconnect one. Bkmark will warn you if removing an account would otherwise lock you out.
Deleting your account
Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All of your bookmarks, tags, groups, and settings are erased and cannot be recovered once the process is complete.
Before deleting your account, export your bookmark library first. Go to Settings → Data → Export to download a full JSON backup of all your bookmarks, tags, and groups. Once your account is deleted, this data cannot be retrieved.
When you’re ready to proceed, go to Settings → Profile → Danger zone and click Delete account. You’ll be asked to type a confirmation phrase and enter your password (or complete a social login) to verify your identity. After confirming, deletion is queued and your session ends immediately. If you have an active paid subscription, it is cancelled at the same time — no further charges will be made.
