Bookmarks are the heart of Bkmark. Every item you save — whether it’s a web page, a quick note, a block of code, or an image — lives in your bookmark library where you can search, filter, and organize it however you like.

Bookmark types

Bkmark supports four distinct bookmark types, each designed for a different kind of content.

Bulk operations

When you need to organize, move, or clean up many bookmarks at once, bulk operations let you act on up to 500 bookmarks in a single action.
1

Select bookmarks

Check the checkbox on any bookmark card to enter selection mode. Continue checking items, or use Select All to grab everything on the current page.
2

Choose an action

With items selected, the bulk-action toolbar appears at the bottom of the screen. Pick the action you want.
3

Confirm

Some actions (like permanent delete) ask for confirmation. Review and confirm to apply the change.
The available bulk actions are:
ActionWhat it does
TagAdds one or more tags to all selected bookmarks
MoveAssigns selected bookmarks to one or more groups
ArchiveArchives all selected bookmarks
FavoriteMarks all selected bookmarks as favorites
DeleteMoves all selected bookmarks to trash (soft delete)
Permanent deleteDeletes all selected bookmarks forever — no recovery
ExportExports all selected bookmarks to a downloadable file
Permanent delete cannot be undone. If you’re unsure, use the regular Delete action to move items to trash first so you can restore them later.

Favorites

Marking a bookmark as a favorite pins it to your Favorites view so you can reach it instantly without searching. To favorite a single bookmark, hover over its card and click the star icon. Click again to unfavorite. You can also favorite in bulk — select multiple bookmarks and choose Favorite from the bulk-action toolbar.

Reading list & unread status

Any bookmark can be added to your reading list by marking it as unread. This is useful when you save something you want to come back to but don’t have time to read right now.
  • Mark as unread: Open the bookmark’s action menu (the ··· icon) and select Mark as unread.
  • Mark as read: Open the same menu and select Mark as read, or open the bookmark — Bkmark can optionally auto-mark it as read when you visit the URL.
  • Filter your reading list: Use the Unread filter in the sidebar to see only bookmarks you haven’t read yet.

Trash & restore

Deleting a bookmark moves it to the Trash rather than removing it immediately. This gives you a safety net if you delete something by mistake. Moving to trash
1

Delete a bookmark

Open the action menu on a bookmark card and click Delete, or select bookmarks in bulk and choose Delete. The bookmark disappears from your library but lands in trash.
Restoring from trash
1

Open Trash

Click Trash in the left sidebar.
2

Find the bookmark

Browse or search your deleted bookmarks.
3

Restore

Open the action menu on the item and click Restore. The bookmark returns to your library with all its tags and groups intact.
Permanently deleting from trash If you’re sure you no longer need a bookmark, open Trash, find the item, and choose Delete permanently from its action menu. This removes it for good — there is no way to recover it after this step.
You can also empty the entire trash at once using the Empty Trash button at the top of the Trash view.

Archiving bookmarks

Archiving lets you keep a bookmark in your library without it cluttering your main view. Think of it as a long-term storage shelf.
  • Archive a bookmark: Open its action menu and click Archive.
  • View archived bookmarks: Toggle the Archived filter in the sidebar.
  • Unarchive: Open the action menu on any archived bookmark and click Unarchive to bring it back to your active library.

Over time, web pages move or disappear — a problem called link rot. On the Pro plan, Bkmark periodically checks your link bookmarks and flags any that return errors (404, 403, server timeouts, etc.). When a broken link is detected, the bookmark is highlighted in your library with a warning badge. You can then update the URL, replace it with an archived version, or delete the bookmark altogether.
Link health checks are available on the Pro and Team plans. Upgrade from your account settings if you want automatic broken-link detection across your entire library.
