The Bkmark browser extension puts your bookmark library one click — or one keystroke — away from any page you visit. Once installed, you can save pages, links, and highlighted text without ever leaving your current tab.

Choose your browser

1

Open the Chrome Web Store

Navigate to the Bkmark extension page on the Chrome Web Store.
2

Click 'Add to Chrome'

On the extension listing page, click the Add to Chrome button in the top-right corner.
3

Confirm the installation

A dialog appears listing the permissions the extension needs. Click Add extension to confirm. Chrome installs the extension and briefly shows a confirmation banner.
4

Pin the extension to your toolbar

Click the Extensions puzzle-piece icon (🧩) in the Chrome toolbar, find bkmark.it in the list, and click the pin icon next to it. The Bkmark icon will appear permanently in your toolbar so you can reach it from any tab.
5

Click the Bkmark icon in the toolbar. If you are not yet logged in, the popup shows a Open bkmark.it button — click it to open your account in a new tab, sign in, then return to your original tab. The popup will refresh automatically and show the save form.

Permissions explained

When you install the extension, your browser asks you to approve the following permissions. Here is what each one does and why Bkmark needs it.
Bkmark communicates only with https://api.bkmark.it. No browsing data is sent to any third-party service.

Already have a Bkmark account?

If you created your account on the web before installing the extension, just click the Bkmark toolbar icon and sign in through the link in the popup. Your existing bookmarks, tags, and groups are waiting for you. If you are new to Bkmark, create a free account first, then follow the installation steps above.
